This year our key-note speakers included Don Tapscott, author of “Blockchain Revolution” and “Wikinomics”. In his presentation “Financial Services in the Second Era of the Internet”, Don covered Blockchain and its effect on different spheres of the economy. James Wester, Senior Payments Analyst at IDC presented on worldwide payment practice.
This event also included a special seminar day on November 1 for organisations that are ready to become the part of SmartVista family. Delegates learned about existing global and LATAM payments trends and the evolution of payments solutions from BPC’s head of R&D, while Credibanco presented its experience of transforming the approach to payments and Telered explained how to form a national payment ecosystem.
The key theme of the conference was how to benefit from Digitalization, a topic that was covered in detail by Praveksha Maharaj, Product manager Channel, BPC. Aslam Mohammad, BPC’s Fraud solutions Director, described how AI and machine learning can be used in fraud prevention as the ultimate tool to stay ahead of fraudsters. BPC’s partner AI Corporation supported this presentation. Open APIs and PSD2 compliance were covered in a joint presentation by Eugene Kozhin, R&D and Peter Theunis, Sales Director Europe, BPC, who presented a solution for tailoring existing infrastructure to meet market demand. Michael Livi, Sales Director USA, demonstrated a Marketplace solution and later moderated a special panel on how Innovation is required in different industries that use payments.
