Implementation Engineer (South Africa, Pretoria)

Responsibilities:

Telephone and On-site Support of software products
Diagnosing software problems, localization of the problem’s sources, identifying the bugs
Installation of SmartVista products
Communicate to customers the steps necessary to maintain and update software products
Assist in documenting of SmartVista products and installation instructions
Assist in testing new releases / updates
Any other duties and/or responsibilities as may be assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Basic knowledge of programming languages: C (for UNIX), PL/SQL, Java - should be able at least to read the source code
Experience in creating SQL-statements, strong knowledge of SQL.
Thorough knowledge in UNIX administration, strong knowledge of SHELL scripting.
Experience in working with DBMS Oracle
Knowledge of networking and TCP/IP protocol.
Experience in implementation of Credit Cards solutions, Payment schemes certifications, etc., knowledge of credit cards business area is an advantage
Software: TOAD, PL/SQL Developer, Oracle SQL Developer, Eclipse, Tortoise SVN

Requirements:

Three or more years experience with software development or support
Banking and Finance, Payments industry
Experience in payment and card processing software
College degree preferred
Post secondary credit hours in a technical related field ORACLE, Unix
English speaking
