BPC Banking Technologies gains PA-DSS Certification
Meets stringent security requirements to protect sensitive customer data in its SmartVista® solution

Amsterdam, the Netherlands, 19th November, 2009 BPC Banking Technologies, the leading provider of Open Systems e-payment solutions for the global financial industry, announced that it had received PA-DSS certification from the PCI Security Council. PA-DSS is a comprehensive standard intended to help organizations proactively protect customer account data, through requirements for security management, policies, procedures, network architecture, software design and other critical protective measures.

According to PCI, the goal of PA-DSS is to help software vendors and others develop secure payment applications that do not store sensitive data, such as full magnetic stripe, CVV2 or PIN data, and ensure their payment applications support compliance with the PCI DSS. Payment applications that are sold, distributed or licensed to third parties are subject to the PA-DSS requirements.

BPC’s SmartVista solution is a complete suite of integrated modules, which allow institutions to manage their end to end payment and card management business. Currently SmartVista is driving innovative payment and card solutions in leading banks in 16 countries around the world.

The PA-DSS audit was completed by IBM Internet Security Systems, which is a certified PA DSS Qualified Security Assessor (PA QSA).

"The project with BPC was one of the most successful we worked on. Our consultants highlighted a great understanding of the PA DSS requirements by the BPC team. BPC has done huge work in a short period of time - one month to initiate the project, remediate all gaps and successfully complete the on-site audit. In fact it is one of the shortest projects in our history and BPC can be proud of that,” said Alexey Ivlev, Security Consultant, IBM Internet Security Systems. “Our consultants have great expertise and large experience in the PCI area and we are looking forward to working with BPC on further projects."

“The PCI Security Standards Council is committed to helping everyone involved in the payment chain protect consumer payment data,” said Bob Russo, General Manager of the PCI Security Standards Council. “By participating in the standards setting process, BPC demonstrates they are playing an active part in this important end goal.”

“At BPC, security is one of the key aspects of our business and we are committed to remain at the forefront of the industry in order to protect the privacy and data of our customers and the consumers they serve”, commented Vasily Grigoriev, CEO, BPC Banking Technologies .More and more customers turn to BPC for their payment solutions and it is critical that they do so in the full knowledge that this mission-critical software is PA-DSS compliant.”
